 第25期日本学術会議新規会員の任命に際し，内閣総理大臣は日本学術会議の推薦する105名の候補者のうち６名を任命せず，その理由を明らかにしていない。こうした決定は，学術研究者の自由闊達な研究活動を委縮させるものである。
日本経営学会は，内閣総理大臣による任命拒否とその理由の開示拒否が，日本国憲法で保障された学問の自由を著しく侵害する危惧を有するものと考え，6名の会員候補者の任命拒否の理由の速やかな開示および当該候補者への任命を求めるものである。

In appointing new members for the 25th term of the Science Council of Japan, the Prime Minister of Japan rejected the appointment of six candidates among 105 candidates without offering any explanation. Such a decision reduces the free and vigorous research activities of academic researchers.

We at Japan Academy of Business Administration consider the rejection of appointment and the refusal by the Prime Minister to disclose reasons to be a gross infringement on the academic freedom protected under the Constitution of Japan. The JABA hereby demands the swift disclosure of the reasons as to why the appointment of six candidates were rejected and, furthermore, calls for the prompt appointment of the said six candidates.
